Additional Bible Verses about God’s Love

What can valentine’s day cards or chocolate hearts do for your child’s understanding of God’s love? Valentine’s Day is a fun holiday, but it shouldn’t be the only time we tell our children and remind ourselves that God loves us.

Here’s a few more verses you can incorporate with the Valentine’s Day copywork:

God’s love is unconditional. We can’t earn it or deserve it, but God gives it anyway (1 John 4:10; Romans 5:8; Ephesians 2:4-5).

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:16-17)

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” (1 John 4:9-10)

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” (Ephesians 2:4-5)

“We love because he first loved us.” (1 John 4:19)

“This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Fill your bags with food from every kind of harvest—a large amount of grain, new wine and olive oil. Then store it in bins and chambers, and protect it with your life.'” (Deuteronomy 28:8)

Tip: You can use these verses to add on to the Valentine’s Day scripture copywork!

“Give to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness.” (1 Chronicles 16:29)

“The earth is full of God’s unfailing love.” (Psalm 33:5) “One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.” (Psalm 27:4)

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.” (Psalm 95:6-7)

“I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.” (Psalm 63:6-7)

“Ascribe to the LORD, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness.” (1 Chronicles 16:29-30) “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.” (Psalm 150:6)

“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven . A time to be born and a time to die.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2)
