Sensory play is a great aspect to add to your list of fun educational activities. As homeschool parents, we’re sort of known for thinking outside the box and using anything and everything as a learning experience. Not only does sensory play introduce activities to your child that engage the use of their senses, but it also helps in having your child learn to use their imagination and creativity.
The fun of sensory toys is evident; many of them are brightly colored, with fun patterns and unique textures. The best part is that sensory play is fun for children of all ages because they find them interesting, unique and sometimes, quite calming.
If you find that you are wanting to increase the use of sensory toys in your home, there are some great options out there to introduce to your child. To help get you started, here are a few suggestions for fun sensory toys that your child may love!
Kids Water Beads

If you have a need to add 20,000 (yes, I said 20,000!) water beads to your child’s toy collection, this is the one for you. Not only are these amazing for sensory play, they also add extra learning opportunities as well such as color grouping or counting options. I would recommend these for older children as they are small in size and could be a potential hazard if put in the mouth. Overall, they are a great toy to use over and over again.
