I’m pretty far outside of the second-trimester woes now, at 30-something weeks I’m already miserable. But I’m not complaining! Trying to savor every moment of growing a little human inside of me while not sleeping or breathing or enjoying it. Kidding again.
But since I’ve made it, and I haven’t died yet, I’ve been thinking of all the things that contributed to me not dying. I mean all the things that made this pregnancy sparkles and rainbows and stuff. Seriously, guys, it hasn’t been bad. I’m just poking some fun at you. I really don’t have too much to add to our second-trimester must-haves list, that wasn’t on our First Trimester Must-Haves List.
Honestly, through all my woes, I think I could do this again 100 times over. Don’t tell my husband though because he just might divorce me. Growing little humans makes me feel so loved and empowered. And even though I can’t wait to hold this tiny thing in my arms, there’s such a bond that comes with pregnancy that sometimes I never want it to end.
Each new milestone week brings in a new flow of emotions, and problems, which means we’ve got to find ways to work through all this new “stuff“. These second trimester must-haves are sure to get you through the best, and the worst, times of pregnancy!
Second Trimester Must-Haves
Flowy Tops and Dresses
I’m not much on buying maternity clothes. I mean, obviously, my wardrobe is full of them, but does anyone else find them expensive? Then they just get stuck in my attic for the next surprise pregnancy and they become useful again.

This time around, I actually invested in some pieces that would work before, during, and after pregnancy. Anything flowy is totally in style right now and it’s great to hide any “problem” areas after you give birth too! Bonus points that flowy tops are perfect for nursing!
Just call me the snake oil lady, because I’m at it again. There’s literally an oil for it all. I’ve been dying of heartburn and other digestive issues and I knew that turning to oils would be safe for both me and baby.

Some great essential oils for pregnancy are Gentle Baby, DiGize, Breathe Again, Deep Relief, and Tranquil. These oils help everything from emotional support, digestive support, sleep support, muscle support and more! You seriously can’t go wrong with Young Living!
I think every mama suffers from dry skin during pregnancy, and there’s no area off limits. If you get my drift. While I love using coconut or another health oil, sometimes it just doesn’t cut it.

If we’re talking about my lips, I am a Burts Bees fanatic. I seriously can’t get enough of this lip balm. We don’t even allow other brands in this house because nothing compares. I also really like the Burts Bees Face Wipes! They’re great for a mid-day refresher!
Anti-Nausea Wrist Bands
Most women are out of the woods with nausea by this time, but some of us are still blessed by the spur of the moment throat lumps that we could definitely do without.

Luckily, there’s another option besides prescriptions. Even when those homeopathic remedies don’t cut it, there’s always another way to try. These fun Anti-Nausea Wrist Bands are a great alternative to the ugly grey bands that you’ll find at your health mart or grocer.
This is one of my most favorite tips. No matter what season you’re pregnant in, the air around you can be an issue. Whether it’s too dry, germy, sticky; or maybe your emotions just need a boost, diffusing is the answer.
Diffusing oils have many benefits, but each oil or blend carries its own properties to do specific jobs. A cool mist diffuser helps to disperse the oils in the air without destroying their tender properties. So if you’re looking for a way to support your immune systems, or you’re just looking for a candle alternative- this is your best bet!
