I know it’s all about the chocolate and the indulgence for this romantic holiday. And I love my kiddos. But at this time of year, it’s like a scary spinoff of “The Never Ending Story” except it’s “The Never Ending Pile of Valentine’s Day Candy That Only Causes Arguments Because My Kids Don’t Understand Moderation.“

And I’m not exaggerating. You know exactly what I mean! It’s Halloween all over again and you’re the worst mom ever. But, we’re gonna try to save you some of the stress. I mean, I can’t save you from it all because you know that they’re gonna get that candy (thanks, grandma. *eye roll*).

In our family, we like to do Hope Chests. It’s one of my favorite non-candy valentines day gifts for kids, since it’s an actual chest that gets filled with keepsakes, special gifts, and useful items for the future.
