If they ever took a poll of all the little girls who were in love with mermaids, I’d probably be dangling off the side of the graph trying to find where exactly I fit in.
Don’t get me wrong, The Little Mermaid was always one of my favorite movies growing up. But this obsession with mermaids (that most little girls seem to have) just wasn’t my thing.
If you know someone that is though, these mermaid worksheets for kids are so fun teaching recognition!
I was more of a warrior princess like Pocahontas, Mulan, or Xena. If Merida was around back then, she would have been my girl. Harriet the Spy, Matilda, that was my thing. I just wasn’t up for the frilly softness that I saw in the magical mermaid.
Or maybe it was just the fact that I’ve been a die-hard skeptic for most of my life and mermaids are a lot more outlandish than a warrior princess, right?.
Of course, I was always quite the tomboy, getting lost in the woods and climbing trees. Hunting and fishing, and playing outside with my friends.
But, I have a princess OBSESSED little one. And she’s been that way since she exited the womb. Even now, at nearly 7, she pretends to be that mermaid in the ocean, head over heels in love and no worries.
She’s a little too old for Recognition Worksheets, but she enjoyed looking at all the pretty mermaid pictures while I was crafting up this post!
This simple pack is 16-pages long and covers a variety of recognition topics for beginners. We’re calling it Mermaid and Friends Learning Fun because we’ve included other creatures and objects found in the ocean!
