Want to know a little secret? I’m dying for a homestead. I want chickens and a garden and land and a farmhouse. I really can’t wait for the Lord to open the door for us, because this 900 sq ft house in a little subdivision isn’t cutting it anymore.

Our little yard is probably one of the biggest in our neighborhood, but it’s still tiny. In efforts to save as much space as we can, but still dream big, I’ve been doing lots of research on Pot Gardening (and I don’t mean marijuana “pot”, I mean gardening inside pots instead of the ground). 

This way, we can explore having a little garden and not sacrifice all our space. I’m staying positive on that one. Our little garden will give us the perfect opportunity to incorporate gardening into our homeschool curriculum and give us many more opportunities to explore learning; bugs, soil, composte, plant life, flowers, water cycle, etc.

So when I told Johannah that we were gonna grow a mini garden, my outdoorsy girl jumped on the bandwagon and couldn’t wait to get her hands dirty too! We just put our plants in some little biodegradable planting pots and once they sprout we’ll transplant into a bigger pot. I’m thinking of using something like a small watering trough and adding some more fruit and veggie plants like strawberries and cucumbers, and then getting a herb pot for our herbs!
