When your child enters middle school, the number of shows that can be used for educational purposes expands tenfold. Videos that were once over-the-heads of your student are now perfect.
I’ve pulled together a list of educational streaming sites for Junior High and Middle School Kids so that you can quickly find the videos you need.
Educational video streaming sites for older kids are very different from elementary streaming options. Not only can you use so many of the videos that work great for elementary school, but you can also now add dozens of high-quality videos that work specifically for the middle school/junior high standards of learning.
All of these streaming services have some fantastic content and some content that should never have seen the light of day. Please take precautions when giving your children access to these services.
Educational Streaming Sites for Junior High & Middle Schoolers
This list is broken into groups based on the five main streaming sites; Hulu, Discovery Plus, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube.
While I have done my best to filter these out, you may also find political slants, anti-Christian references, or other worldview conflicts in the videos listed for this post.
Since this is educational streaming for junior high, encourage your child to exercise discernment on these topics and bring any discrepancies or questions to you for discussion.
Please be aware we could not screen each video fully to make this list of educational video streaming sites as there just aren’t enough hours in the day!
But if you have any information about the videos listed in this post, please comment! We will all benefit from open dialogue.
A Note About World-View Educational Streaming Sites
Recommending great educational content is difficult because so much of the content available does not support a Christian worldview.
Please always be aware of the worldviews represented in the video content your child watches. Keep conversations with your child open and honest. Whenever you have questions, take them to God’s word.
Any or all of the science content on these lists may include references to evolution. Have frank and open discussions with your children on this topic and make sure your main science curriculum supports and defends your worldview.

Great list! On Prime Video, our family is loving a series called Victorian Farm! We’ve been learning so much about life, culture, inventions, economy etc of those days. What they are, what they wore, how they grew food, and how they went to the bathroom and brushed teeth! They also have a series called Edwardian Farm and WWI Farm. These series are about two archeologists and a historian to fit an entire year live as if they were back in those days. Just fantastic!! I highly recommend it.
