I don’t know exactly how you feel about Amazon Prime, but it’s truly my FAVORITE shopping place. Not only is a great place to find practically anything that you’re looking for, store all the photos, watch all the movies, listen to all the music, but the two-day shipping tops it off for me.
With Prime Day coming up (July 16th-17th), I knew I needed to share with you all the tips and tricks I’ve learned to get the most of my Amazon account. But before we get into all the action that’s coming, here are a few things you need to make sure you have in place before Amazon Prime Day.
Get an Amazon Prime Account
If you aren’t already an Amazon Prime customer, this tip is for you! You don’t have to go all in with that yearly fee to participate. Amazon gives each new customer a 30-day trial membership of Amazon Prime before you commit.
If you’re new to Amazon Prime, take advantage of this trial Prime membership so that you can participate in Prime Day. If you are on the fence, or just don’t want to be dedicated to that fee yet, this trial membership gives you everything that you’ll receive in a paid membership for FREE!
Make a plan
Before Amazon Prime Day, be sure that you go in with some sort of game plan, even it if is just a mental one. With all the deals being thrown around on Prime Day, it can be REALLY hectic and you’ll find yourself splurging on things left and right. Ask me how I know and I’ll show you the mandolin I bought last year and haven’t yet used. 🙂
Maybe you want to give yourself a budget, or maybe scout out last years deals to give yourself an idea of what may be within reach. Maybe you want to purchase a few Christmas presents, homeschool items, or gift yourself. Prime Day is the second biggest online shopping day, don’t outdo yourself!
Prepare to check the prices
Don’t forget that some things WON’T be on mega sale. Be sure that you know how to spot a good price. Checking sites that show last year’s prices helps, but you can do better than that. Sites like Honey and Paribus can help you track lower prices from other sellers, alert you when prices drop, and contact the seller on your behalf if a lower price appears. These are gold to help you save money on Prime Day!
Sign up for deal alerts
Inside of the Amazon app, Tap the menu button in the top left and select Today’s Deals. Swipe left to switch to the Upcoming tab to view all the deals that haven’t started yet. Under each item is a button that says Watch this deal. Now, any time a deal you’re watching goes live, you will receive a notification.
Use our Online Shopping Hacks Checklist
We have a whole blog post about how you can save money while shopping online, including an online shopping checklist that will help you save money while shopping any day of the year! Be sure that you check it out before Amazon Prime Day so that you have a better opportunity at saving your bucks!
If you’re anything like me, not only do I have serious mom-brain, but I also suffer from uber-procrastination-itis, meaning I wait until the last minute to do it all. Amazon Prime has saved my mom-hide many, many, days.
